Course Outline

Upcycling a Pre-Loved Doll – 4-Hour Workshop Transform an old doll into a one-of-a-kind creation while embracing sustainability and creativity! (1pm-5pm) Everyone has a doll that they cherish but wish they could re-invigorate its' look! Upcycling a doll is a thoughtful and artistic process, allowing you to give new life to a once-loved toy while also reducing waste. In this workshop, you’ll reimagine and redesign a pre-loved doll by changing its features, creating new clothing, and adding personalized details. Inspired by Steiner education principles, this process encourages slow, mindful crafting, storytelling, and cultural appreciation—resulting in a beautiful, unique doll perfect for dollhouse play or display. The workshop is carefully structured to include cleaning the doll, deciding what parts you want to transform, plan the new look for it, create new clothes for it and update its hair, and face. This new look upcycled doll can remain something for you to treasure. This is a great craft project for creativity, focus, imagination and recycling materials. Some materials are supplied but bring your own doll and your favourite fabrics, beads, buttons or any embellishment you want to use. *images used by kind permission of Maria Grujicic.
