T2 2025: French for Beginners - 8 Weeks

Course Outline

In our French for Beginners language course for adults, you’ll begin by learning essential vocabulary and phrases to help you navigate everyday situations, such as greetings, introductions, numbers, and simple expressions. As you progress, you’ll dive into the basics of French grammar, including sentence structure, verb conjugations (like the present tense), and common adjectives. Pronunciation is another key focus, as you'll learn the unique sounds of the French language, such as nasal vowels and silent letters, to communicate clearly and confidently. The course also emphasizes practical skills, allowing you to practice conversations for situations like ordering food at a café, asking for directions, or shopping. Listening exercises will train your ear to understand spoken French in casual exchanges. Beyond language, you’ll explore cultural aspects of France and French-speaking countries, giving you insights into traditions, etiquette, and daily life. By the end of the course, you’ll be equipped to handle basic interactions and conversations, laying a strong foundation for further learning or travel experiences. Your Tutor: Cecilia is a new tutor with DASC. She has travelled from her native Italy, has seen a few places in Australia and is now settled in Darwin for a while. She has a Master's Degree in Literatures and Modern Languages German, French and English. She also has a 3 Years Degree in Literatures and Modern Languages Russian and English. Now she will be teaching German for Beginners with DASC every Wednesday evening from 6.30pm to 8.30pm! She will share her knowledge and experience of the German language with you, taking you through the very basics so you can grow in confidence speaking a new language.
